Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

What is your name?

My name is Young Hoff, legal name Justin Hoffman.

Where are you from?

The Bay Area, CA, more specifically San Jose.

How long have you been in the music industry?

I have been writing music since 2015, but started getting serious about a music career in 2020.

What is your biggest music accomplishment?

Releasing my first project –The Freshman Year EP – and performing it while opening for Mike Jones.

What’s your next move?

Looking to lock in a team. I am currently 100% independent, but I really need to get a manager, agent, label, publicist, mentor, etc. to make sure I navigate the industry effectively and efficiently.

Are you working on any projects?

Currently I am working on 2 projects. The #MusicMonday Challenge which, when completed, will be re-mastered, rebranded, and released as a mixtape in the next few months, as well as an autobiographical album which dives deeper into my personal life, including struggles with alcohol abuse, addiction, and recovery.

Where do you see yourself in 1 year?

Within 1 year, I hope to be making money off of music – at least enough where it can pay for itself. I also hope to have acquired the team I had mentioned earlier.

Who inspired you to make music?

When it comes to instruments, listening to classic rock and heavy metal when I was younger got me interested in learning how to play the guitar. At 16, one of my best friends passed away and he played the piano so I learned how to play in memory of him, then at age 19, I met my friend FluteDiGGa in college and he ignited the fire in me to start rapping.

Musical influences?

Mac Miller, J. Cole, Jack Harlow, Tupac.
