How Jesus Brillo Has Managed to Build a Massive Following within Just a Year of Resuming Music

There is no doubt that unexpected circumstances can sometimes put your plans on hiatus. Many entrepreneurs know this firsthand. While some abandon the project, others come back to their endeavors at full speed. Jesus Brillo falls into the latter category.

This 24-year-old urban musician was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Calling music his love and passion, he began exploring this world when he was only 16. Today, Jesus dominates streaming platforms with his rap, dembow, reggaetón, and Latin trap genres. At 18, he was part of a group called “La Aldea” in Santiago. Motivated by his classmates, he began recording in studios and writing songs for other artists. When he was just 19, Jesus released his first music video for the song “Para Tu En Algo Creo”.

Jesus founded 2 companies, Brillo Organic Investment and Brillo Center SRL. Brillo Center was founded in 2015 to manage projects and Jesus adapted its model to digital platforms. Speaking of digital platforms, Jesus’ music can be streamed on nearly every music app currently available. This includes leading services such as Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music, and Pandora. Besides, he also has dozens of music videos posted on YouTube. His followers are in the hundreds of thousands and one of his videos boasts over 3 million views.

Hard at work to establish himself as a leading musician in his country and beyond, this indie artist knows all about dedication as he does not have the backing of a label or studio. Jesus is a true entrepreneur who directly funds all of his projects. Yet, his desire for success is not only for himself, it is also for his 5-year-old daughter and 1-month-old son. Upon the birth of his daughter, financial constraints resulted in Jesus taking the decision to walk away from music in 2016. 

In 2020, this independent artist was able to return to his craft. Complete with a newly launched YouTube channel and the hit single “Toxic Lover”, Jesus was back and had more followers than ever. In January of 2020, he released a video for the track “Mi Coro” which was released as a single and had an outside producer: Jagual Muback. In July of that year Jesus’ track “Crispy” became his biggest hit to date on streaming platforms. A socially conscious artist, Jesus released “Detecto la Dema” in November of 2020. This stirring track shares the plight of young Dominicans who want to change their lives after committing crimes and the obstacles they face to achieve this goal.

Jesus isn’t pursuing his dream solo as he does have a strong team behind him. This includes the popular DJ Edison Medrano Flore and his manager Miguel Gullon. With his early start in the music industry, and his talent, charisma, and online popularity, Jesus Brillo is a name the world will probably be quite familiar with very soon. Not only does this entertainer have a great deal of ambition, but he also has an equal amount of purpose.
